I was one of the first brokers in Santa Clara county in 1975 to buck the ( have to be a member of car or nar to get MLS)  they fight hard but in the end you don't have to be.And if a buyer wants a house you have listed they are not going to make an offer because of affliation issues.NOw here in Oregon the the brokages that are members require their agents to be members but if I wanted to just be a one man shop I could get MLS only
