It is counter intuitive, but highest rent rarely means highest earnings for the owner over the long term.Now, you shouldn’t be way below market rates, but keeping a small cushion—5% or so between your price and the price they could get elsewhere will be a strong motivator for the tenant to stay.It is expensive to move.

@Ilan FriedmanI'd recommend onboarding a CPA that has experience with both international taxation as it relates to the US and real estate.There are multiple filing exposures unique to a US citizen living abroad and the penalties for even non-willful negligence are steep.

If you feel confident you can rent it out with little time between tenants, if you can raise rents to give you some cushion all those things might make it a good buy.
