The HOA was severely mismanaged by a self-managed HOA board that didn't really read the by-laws carefully and depleted funds over a pet-related lawsuit with an owner who is now short-selling.

I don't buy or sell turnkey rentals so have no dog in that fight.

They are loud at all hours, smoke indoors, do not pick up dog poop, use marijuana and other drugs in home.

We are looking for a smaller house 2 bed/2 bath as family member has a pet.

I have bought all manner of hoarder houses.one i did a few years ago had a pet boa and that thing got loose and we never did find it.. the city wanted me to tell all the neighbors to watch their cats and small dogs.. had another one were the guy dismantled a chevy then put it back together in the basement.. so i had to demo the house and lift it out with a excavator..

I would drop the rent a bit and consider allowing a small dog with pet deposit and pet rent.

Talked to my PM and she thinks since it's larger than a hotel room (4 beds and there aren't a lot of nearby hotels) I can get families with pets (which I allow since I took out all the carpeting) and there are no co-tenants (ie other hotel rooms) for a disease vector.Again, I was wrong and am happy, but I can see communities either raising taxes or refusing new permits (great for me) or just not allowing them (not so great for me).Also, location helps a lot plus room to park/live.My un-educated opinion.
