Hi BP community,I am interested to buy a property $900k in California in a old and very cute Gold Rush little town in California between 2 and 3 hours from San Francisco.It is a land of 60 acres with a 1300 sqf home on it, old barn and another small building.

I made a big mistake purchasing a town home with rental restrictions.

So, I know rent by the room is allowed in my area as this is a college town.

CF the "lying down" above--that alone WILL bring a country to its knees, as full automation is a pipe dream.And also on topic, buy in towns with a hefty black population or that mainland Chinese people haven't heard of, and you avoid the mainland Chinese bubble. 

However, it seems that every area has its own set of local laws, requirements, permits which seem to vary by counties, cities, and towns.

Hello Allison,Short Term Rental regulations tend to vary by specific by city/towns/districts.

Some of the neighboring cities do as well but I wasn't able to find anything for the town our rental is in. 

Even if the two properties are in the same town, the quotes could differ from different carriers due to age, fire protection, value, etc.
