I have considered just buying a single family home with a in-law suite instead. 

The issue was that it was posted to the front door (as opposed to the suite door), I'm guessing that's because it's not technically a separate entrance.

In harmony with those things I'm going to go out to properties and just start looking, connecting with brokers and establishing relationships which to what I am aware of is my biggest strong suit.

I bought my unit for $100 and sold it for $140 seven years and a few hundred swimming trips later. 

Property is a 2 bed 2 bath condo but the interesting part is that each bedroom is a master suite.
