You can save money by installing all plastic shower pans and plastic walls, but being a plumbing contractor we encounter cracked shower pans almost every day and we encounter the drains leaking in plastic shower pans because when people stand on shower pans the plastic flexes and the drain strainers loosen causing significant damage.

Hello,I have purchased a rental property that is listed on MLS as 2 BR 2.5BA.It does have an extra office space that i will be converting into a bedroom.I will also be adding a shower to the 1/2 bathroom.I will be renting it out, but i am thinking ahead.

They think it's unfair because they only shower once a week but they can hear the upstairs neighbor showering twice a day.

I would first not mention the increased rent coming but ask if there are any issues currently in the unit that the tenant would like addressed(Shower inoperable, leaking ceiling, etc.)

I can already tell he doesn't want to fix anything since his tenants are still able to use the toilet, shower, etc. without any problems.

Overall demand above the usual showers & faucets includes 3 dishwashers, 3 washing machines & 2 full sized baths.With the 30 gal online & with a lot of tenant patience, I spent several days installing the AO Smith 240NI (the 3" PVC runs in an old hand dug basement with whole oak tree trunk rim joists made for a logistical nightmare).It immediately fired it up & NOT a single "no-HW" complaint since.
