Old apartments (maybe 1920s), some new infill, certain areas had major drug problems (check with Stockton Police on this, I just avoid area; I looked at apartments there but found that few had any parking for residents) Now there are new developments south of downtown near the airport (Hwy 99 side; east) and on I-5 side (west).

Financing and tax related issues will force the other into becoming part of whatever you decide to do and you don't want to overcomplicate your marriage with financial decisions that both of you are not on board with wholeheartedly.That being said, there are other ways to invest in real estate that don't involve you moving or evening buying a home.

My opinion, I think they (Stone County P&Z) don't want to issue more of these permits because they have these purpose built developments scattered throughout the area that have resort amenities and are meant for vacation rentals and they are of the opinion that we've got plenty and need to reserve housing supply for residents.

Granted, the owner was a total slumlord and refused to repair anything, but I'm confident that a large part of the issue with the bugs was caused by the tenants themselves.
