Is there a strategy that I can apply to find land? 

my next steps I'm planning are a duplex/quadplex build on land I'm buying from family with an existing single family home already on it. 

One thing I liked before the redesign was that they gave numbers based on the average, upper 25% and top 10%.

(A SFR with a pool is a LOT more risky for lawsuits than remote raw land).

Rents will also vary from about $2000-$4000 based on the area and house.

Keep in mind an older home is just based on year built, but could have a new roof, new sewer line, etc.
