Finding a good tenant can be hard but do back ground checks, check for previous evictions and have them pay a security deposit so if anything does get dammaged at least you have something.

Adding to @Bill Gulley's comment we find that Ranches with ground level in-law setups sell quickly & my guess is 20-25% above prices for a SFH without it.

We are actually going to be selling our current primary residence and moving out of state to the area that we want to invest in.The plan is to move into a future rental property (Condo etc) for 2-3 months to get our feet on the ground in the new area and then use a zero down VA Loan to purchase a single family primary residence for us.

Hi AllI've been doing some browsing and have comeAcross a few properties that mention " ground rent unknown or owner willNot redeem ground rent " does this mean that there is squatters present or the tenants are not paying rent or the owner has no idea what is going on ?

Once the right caulk was applied the leak stopped for many years and nothing has been done since.I was going to suggest calling a roofer but it sounds like the issue is done.You could suggest to them that damaging someones reputation unfairly could be grounds for your own lawsuit.
