But I think it's worth filing a claim in any case.If my first assumption is correct and you believe it was intended that you receive that part of Parcel 7A then you probably need to go back to your Seller and get an additional deed for the parcel.

I wouldn't recommend a 10yr ARM, but depending on your outlook and assumptions of when the market may recover, the 5yr or 7yr are likely the better options.

All of this needs to be really clearly laid out up front so it's not a mixture of business and personal, you're buying it 100% as a business / investment is my assumption and he has to understand that he either needs to pay a market rate at least for your share of the property, or vacate once the VA minimum time passes so you can both rent it out market.
