Nice tile or wood look laminate can be found for $1 to $1.5 psf. 

About ten months later the Master shower developed a leak, despite being a brand new, beautiful tile walk-in shower.

I've had investor clients use them for projects ranging from drain tile to a full excavation project.

I was able to save some money with digging up the concrete because I had other basement work being done like the egress window and adding drain tiles so my basement contractor was already there with the necessary tools and helped me out.

Before you commit to a full drain tile job, break open the corners and see where water flows and where it doesn't - they could be blocked to smashed in just one spot. 

Maybe you're only changing tiles on one bathroom on an 800 sf house or you could be removing everything and leaving 1 wall of an old house and building a 4000 sf house.

If someone were to drop water on the tile in the bathroom it could flow between this gap and down to the 1st floor. 

Is the water mitigation a interior sump with drain tile, cutting out concrete, patching in to match existing, or is it via sump with exterior gravity drain tile.

I put in 100% tile floors in all my places so I can increase my income via pet deposits and fees.
