Every time I plan a trip to monitor the investments in U.S.

I found several old forums related to this but none that seem to answer mine and likely many other landlord's needs and I am hopeful that there is some newer technology that can provide a solution.  

The we have gold brokers, bunker builders and all the others who make a living selling fear based "solutions", just think back to the panic buying of TP, flour and all kinds of other bizarre things during covid, all powered via the fear-4-profit industry in the US of which Youtube is the crowning jewel as fear and terror gets views, blue skys and stability is boring. 

I do have one tenant who tries to get "extra" repairs if I'm not there to monitor so I always go there. 

Having a good scope of work and proper monitoring of contractors following the plan and staying on budget is essential but only provides the outline for the expected not the daily unexpected that's the reality of rehabbing. 

All kidding aside, I use a MacBook Pro at my desk with a big LCD TV as a second monitor.

I'm also into house hacking myself, and have spent a long time researching and coming up with cosmetic solutions to my own apartment, from painting, adding custom cabinetry, decorative molding to removable tile decals and wallpapers on Etsy.

Separate meters: From the research that I've done (a lot on BP forums), this seems to be way too expensive to consider.Submetering: This seems to be a viable option, but I have no idea how much the initial setup would cost or the how much the ongoing monitoring would cost.
