It is legal to assign a contract, but it goes deeper than that, can you perform in the contract and then decide a few times in a blue moon to assign a contract or do you contract without the ability to buy simply as a strategy to facilitate sales as a straw man, being a straw man (wholesaler) can get you nailed in this state. :)

I hire mostly vendors, and get a copy of certificate of insurance before they start work,, some are regular contractors so they actually send it to me each year..I still have workers comp and it would cover me, and other family member, or the once in a blue moon general labor guy, that works on property, I don't think I'd risk being without it.
