The seller told us, the house needs EVERYTHING, from roof, kitchen, bathroom, floor, wall, ceiling, lights, lawn, doors, it's pretty much a big rehab.

It would be a good ideal to paint all treated areas with a stain blocking primer including the wood members, studs and sub-flooring if affected.

Also keep in mind that if the basement is below grade it won't meet minimum standards of fitness for human habitation:"No room or area in a dwelling may be used for habitation if more than 1⁄2 of its floor-to-ceiling height is below the average grade of the adjoining ground and is subject to chronic dampness."

New flooring throughout, 2 completely redone bathrooms, took down walls to open the place up a bit, new doors, fresh paint, some crown, lots of patching, light kitchen remodel that include granite tops and an island with concrete top, new dishwasher and range, new HVAC units, moved some electrical around, new garage door, some fresh landscaping, added a fire pit, and gave the porch a facelift with some new posts.

In my jurisdiction a CO monitor is mandated if you have a combustion source at your property, as is at least one smoke alarm per floor irregardless of a combustion source.
