My first instinct is that we would have to go Section 8, but on her property is a studio that she once used for dance lessons and a separate one bedroom apartment that has been updated in recent years due to fire damage.My main question is would we be able to rent out the main house and apartment under section 8?

There’s a tendency to hack up the house and make little studios here.

With Amazon there now, there will be always someone looking.

However, Baltimore is poised for growth as John Hopkins Hospital ramps up activity and Amazon also has a distribution center. 

There is an insane boom going on in the Kenosha-Racine area do to a 10,000 employee expansion by amazon in Kenosha and a 40,000 employee new building called Foxconn.

It is 2 2/1 houses and a studio, all separate structures.

We are both small retail business' with a handful of employees each ( I own a tattoo studio and next to me is a vape shop).

I think they are garages turned into studios and use to generate additional income.

Rent 2 spare rooms at $800 each and convert the garage into a studio (~$1300 rent).
