We are trying to move away from the herd as the MLS, auction, and yellow letter scenes are extremely competitive.We have compiled a list of homes while driving for dollars, found the vacant owner's number and I have started to call.

It's like buying a home and the electric water pump and etc... were taken out and sold.If the well has enough water you can water your lawn, or a herd of horses with it...Some of those old wells are only drawing from near surface water and may have contaminants if you drink or bath in it-- it might not even be drinkable safely by animals.If it was drawing from an aquifer down deep with good drinking water that would be best.In your area the bored well may be appurtenance, and the pump and windmill gear may be too, or the mechanicals may be personal property (???)

As I became older it became clear that dedication and constant learning and accpeting it's not going to be easy helped make the most progress.The herds chase what appears to be (easy pie in the sky) stuff and is generally why they are in the same place or worse financially decade after decade.

***This isn't actually too bad, I do need replacement windows anyway, and smaller size partially makes up for the materials to fill the window***The things that could hurt rental profitability (but potentially raise resale interest/vale):More open kitchen feel, built in wall oven/microwave, built in cooktop (induction) easily vented outside, much more cabinet space.Avoiding the L-shape leaves ~32" clearance for a pullout trash cabinet, and ~42" clearance for the dishwasher to open.To minimize these high cost issues in a rental, I have found replacement scratch/dent radiant or coil drop in cooktops for ~$200.

Don't get me wrong I will go cave to cave until I find them, but it is a lot easier just to find an entire herd grazing in the meadow during the spring and tackle a dozen of them there.

Then, work for money, buy depreciating liabilities, and if anything is left, follow the herds and give that money to someone else to manage and everything will work out.
