I initially thought I had a moisture issue or leak from 2nd floor but it was none of these things....And BTW there is a method to test if you haev these ceilings.. generally if you rub your fingers against the ceiling if you have calcamine you generally will get a very chalky residue on your fingers....Thankfully this was only used on the ceilings because I have read about it being used on walls as well.

I havent had any issues with them warping, although if they absorb any moisture they will grow a slight bit making them snug in the opening.

Conditions of property is as is.I got so fed up I cancelled.sorry for being long winded here but here you can see even in this extreme case where the defect is documented, verified, and caused by their own negligence (if they paid the electric bills the AC would be running and the moisture penetration wouldn't have escalated into a toxic black mold issue) and I had a contract with them prior without the mold and termite issues, even then they didn't care.Hope this helps.

Basements are more of a hassle because of egress windows and moisture issues, but also doable.

According to several contractors, this is not up to code and the pad needs to be at least 2 inches below the interior of the house to prevent moisture/rain intrusion.As such, I feel like I am faced with 3 options1.

Since there is no moisture barrier that insulation soaks up the water, drops to the bottom of the wall and creates havoc on the structure.

Eliminating cat urine odor while leaving carpet or subflooring that have been saturated with urine but sequentially dried will result in the odor returning if and when the surface gets exposed to humidity or moisture.

Along with my sales agreement, it stated, the property needed a tarp on the back roof, and a dehumidifier to remove the residual moisture, within 48 hours.

Eliminate moisture where ever you can.

Make sure you figure out why it's peeling and if there is moisture somewhere.
