I'd like to start actively prospecting for land and am looking for advice on strategies from those who have done this successfully.

My suggestion would be to jot down all the activities that are taking up your time, then start researching how other STR operators have solved those exact problems.

I am starting to believe that I need to learn the tax laws myself since I have lost so much money paying unnecessary taxes because my previous CPA's are not familiar with all laws or they just plug numbers into a software (without strategizing) and then I get hit with huge tax bills that could have been legally avoided. 

Building costs here are astronomical.

It's no guarantee but it's a good place to start.

Start with a simple investment, then repeat.

If there is any other suggestions to help me get started please let me know because I want to pursue this wealth building strategy.

We are going to be buying property and building a spec home shortly and need to understand the pros and cons of doing this deal through an LLC vs. as individuals, from a tax perspective.

There are lots of multi-fam investment pockets in the greater Boston area, some really great to live in, but really depends on your financial situation / down payment.General advice- The vast majority of multi-fams in the Boston area are very old builds.
