I'd make a couple of comments:I use Quicken for all my bills, personal and real estate...I have not written a paper check in years. 

Get a couple other opinions from other agents.

Hi BiggerPockets Forum,My name is Lewis and I'm brand new to the real estate investing game.

But, I hesitate to use up what we have now on acquiring rentals and not have any left to acquire more or do the occasional flip for capital.So what we were thinking is to reverse that and try to get in on a couple of flip deals first to build up some more operating capital and then start buying rentals with the occasional flip along the way.

I have owned a couple of multi-family properties in the past and loved it but took a break to focus on the kiddos.

Couple quick facts about me:28 years old.

I see a couple out there (Fundrise $500M, Bridge Housing $500M, Virtua Partners $200M and independent funds) and wanted to hear from other investors what they thought of the funds.

I had a potential couple also ask to pay 1 year in advance, totaling over 10k for the years rent.

That might be tricky for a couple reasons - I believe in some areas you are not allowed to actually collect rent that far in advance, and the funds might have to be put into escrow and disbursed monthly to you.
