Consider joining REI goups on meetup.com or different investment groups on Facebook. 

I wanted to know if there are any local real estate meeting in/near Fort Lauderdale, FL where I would be able to join and network with other people. 

Home depot sells a special paste and special wire connectors, which allow you to join the copper and aluminium.

I want to know what the fees would be to join or commission split would be.

While I joined with the intent of learning how to manager my SF rental better and expand my SF holdings, I quickly realized that there were many more opportunities available. 

We have an attorney on board to join, possibly a banker as well.

I reside in the Atlanta, GA area, and recently joined BP, but was not very active other than just reading the forums.

@Jeffrey Jenkins 3 suggestions:1) Join a local REIA or Meetup2) Seek out an experienced local expert3) Ask them for an opportunity to spend a day (o 1/2 day) looking over their shoulder.
