I am looking at a few different properties in Beaumont Texas for section 8 rentals, wanted to reach out to the community and see if anyone has experience with this type of rentals in the area.

Fast forward through some vital life experience, I’m back on BP with a desire to jump back into my goal of having a cash-flowing rental portfolio that can help support me.

I wanted to see if anyone else is still using this method or has used it in the past and what their experience with it was.

Investors with experiences and losses recommend living within 3 or 4 hours of the rental, so it's easy to drive back if something goes haywire.My friends live 2 hours from theirs and it's a hassle.

A painful learning experience, to say the least.

So I’m wondering if anyone has experience with other property investment friendly insurance companies with good rates before I start shopping around. 

House hacking will also give you some personal "property management" experience.

Your first few deals are learning experiences and it’s likely you won’t make the best deal of your life until you have more experience.
