One of the units houses a hoarder/cat lady who kept her unscreened window open so all the neighborhood cats could come and go.

I feel sick to my stomach for these people who lost money, especially those who lost almost everything, such as the lady who had lived in Hawaii. 

For me in Newburgh the lady at the county clerks desk gave me everything I needed and even some sample documents and told me what to file and when to file what documents needed to be motorized and so on.

It's just a platform to rent one folks room to another folk, and it's still a primary residence.The problem happened when the business is booming and during the scaling/expansion process, where people buying home just to be STR-ized and renter is getting wild also, so everyone said STR owner is the new enemy.Also, taxi business or bookstore has no claim of "territory", where hotel business has to pay taxes and all of that for the local gov. ; if STR doesn't expand like today ( let say there're only 1 STR per 10 miles wide), obviously STR-owner would not become enemy of everyone.I can understand why lot of avg people is mad at STR owner, because this business is also hijacking up the home price for avg folks.

Just a wild guess could be wrong.

Words of wisdom from my property manager, who has been in this business 28 years: "The truth is, Jean, most of these young ladies are just one bad boyfriend away from an eviction."

Generally a lady that runs the show and ask her all the above question about tenants. 

The world of real estate investing, contrary to what all too many people seem to believe, is not filled with gentlemen and ladies of high honor and moral purity to make the angels weep.
