My name is Madison Heck, I'm a 25 year old product manager at a tech company in New York City that is looking to shift into real estate investing on the side initially, but transitioning to full time once I can hopefully replicate my income.I am getting closer to closing on a property in Ithaca, NY (where I went to school) with a business partner of mine in the next month or two.

Once I install the giant fans on the corners and put lifevests under the guest beds I think I’ll be set.  

@Schadrac Mertis  Jarrell is a growing community about 30 minutes from high tech corridor (Apple campus, HomeAway, InDeed, etc) and about 45 minutes from downtown Austin. 

My research showed me that even in slow times these places that stand out still rent, but if the Covid boom does die off I'm not sure if a "normal house" in the middle of these giant communities of tens of thousands of the same house will get lost in the shuffle.

Focus on the things that you only trust yourself to do (for me, that was setting up the smart lock and other tech items) and farm out the rest.  

No easy solution:(Trying to Facetime with a contractor, who often is not tech savvy, is a challenge - especially if you have little construction experience and don't really know what you are looking at or looking for.Hiring someone means a lot of time searching and complicates timing.Best idea we have is interviewing several Home Inspectors to try to find one with a builder's license or background.

Alot of that depends on Louisville's growth, particularly in the tech industry, and that is all coming organically....

The transition from small local company to a big publicly traded company is never easy for owners who are used to a certain level of personal service that the local management company provided, amongst many other tech changes, commission structure, etc.

@Nick Cooley Lawrenceville is more of an owner occupant destination nowadays, attracting your high salary professionals like doctors, attorneys, and tech.
