Hi,I am about to become a first time landlord and was hoping someone could shed some light on what type of insurance I should be looking into for renting out a single family home.

In many real estate markets multi family price per square foot is lower than attatched single family price per square foot.

I am a new investor in single family homes and doing my first flip.

Would be curious to know about single family as well just so I know in the future. 

Help see if we should go ahead with this triplex opportunity. 3bed/3 bath 1450 square feet.Currently in due diligence with asking price of $70,000 w/ estimated rehab costs of $80,000 including:-Asbestos Abatement-Paint-New Appliances for Kitchen and Showers-New Boiler/Venting system-Plumbing and Electrical -Header in the basement-New Windows-New Roof-Tree RemovalRents in this area for the single units (400 sq ft) = $700 and one larger unit (800 sq ft) = $900, total = $2300.  

So i took them over (owner finance) one is a double the other is a single.

@Matt Millard If you take a self directed Roth IRA with checkbook control and buy single family homes at the right price you will beat the pants of any insurance policy or stock out there.

The BP one really only works for single family as it doesn't take into account rent increases.
