You might check out the local county assessors site and see if it shows how taxes are calculated for the property, maybe project what they will be in Yr 2.

This is a great question, i know in my county the assessors site fives your the rate % rate.. so if the appraised value is around the sales prices, I expect the bee tax rate can be alculated using that information... anyone else know if this sounds right?

I only request current/previous landlord info from applicants to see if they are lying (like putting down a friend's phone number and/or name).

You should be able to go to the county site, google something to effect of "[insert county] tax assessor property search" should give you direct link to site.

Would appreciate clarification on best determining my dwelling versus land value for depreciation:- Purchased first duplex - Early April 2018 - $369,000 - California- New Tax Assessment received assumes $143,541 (Land) and $225,459 (Fixtures)- However, while my appraisal gave the sales comp approach the most weight in determining value, the Cost Approach was second and had the following breakdown: "...Site value was determined by a review of assessors tax records for land value and was determined to be the most effective as there were no recent lot sales.
