The Bar’s loan-mod squad is investigating more than 400 active complaints from consumers about lawyers’ roles in loan modification scams.

I think some serious investigation needs to be done..

Lending requires a bit more investigation and compliance with laws, both local and federal.land banking (investing in raw land) requires some very good due diligence into the market and into each potential purchase, then has negative cash flow so your exit strategy must be well planned out and this is more of a speculation play.You should be adding to tax deferred/tax free growth accounts like an IRA, solo 401k or ROTH versions of either.

We encourage all prospective bidders to conduct their own due diligence and investigate all matters relating to the properties that they are interested in purchasing.

I'll keep investigating and doing my research until I'm set up correctly.

What I do is create a "portfolio" for "investigations" and then a new portfolio for "offers."  

There are a few ways but the best way is to use a Private Investigator.

Heck, maybe you can even throw in "landlord gets invited to cool parties" into the agreement (just kidding).Before doing anything, of course, investigate all the laws of the land in relation to room renting.

I have not investigated the Minneapolis market, so not sure if this is even possible????

Here's the rundown, briefly for any tenant that gets damaged by this kind of irresponsible business practice. 1) Tenant is reported by you, the furnisher of information, to a Credit Reporting Agency, a CRA;2) Tenant pulls credit, sees your debt;3) Tenant disputes the reporting to the CRA, under the FCRA, section 1681s citing you have no court order (therefore without authority) ;4) CRA is required to investigate the dispute by the furnisher of information.
