At the end of the day, Royal Oak has its plan and it has grown beautifully because of it.

That's the beauty of being able to spend your life in your own way because you get to direct your focus on tasks and things that you really enjoy.

The problem is that this beautiful property is in a neighborhood with no HOA, which allows the immediate neighbor to have boarded up windows, trash all over their front and back yard, and a driveway full of trashed cars— it’s not a great sight to look at.

Now, that being said, our wood was absolutely beautiful

To me this is the true beauty of REI over other type of investments, because that income can easily be passive and that freedom can easily be gained early in life while one is still young enough to enjoy it, to try new things and learn for certain what it is that they actually love doing and are driven by.I guess my assumption (right or wrong) is that people at some stage would probably like to have more time and freedom to do the things they love (whether that be surf, travel the world, spend time with their spouse and kids, animals, running a rescue mission, philanthropy, etc) and if they are still working on the business full time than that is simply also time they are not spending focused on those things that they most love (unless they in fact love the business more than those things).Much like you, I also still choose to spend time on those things I love.

Amazing tenants, beautiful property, but I want to get the money and use it on another project.
