The issue is it is likely to be at 45 minutes from "the city". ( Small city so, here 15-20 minute commute would be average )It is close to a lake, which may help attract the older population to it or stational ( vacation rentals?

I’m hopeful that some version of this will go through as it could be a great value-add for owners as well as contribute to more housing for the massive population influx Portland is expected to receive in the next 20 years.The next scheduled portion is a Feb. 12th meeting on the proposals (I don’t think open to the public) with it being sent back to the council for review and public comment sometime in March.

Except that that county is in the middle of nowhere and has lost almost 10% of its sub 10k population since 2010.

Nearest town larger than us is 45 miles away with about 25k population, other than that there is no big city within 200 miles.

Waitsburg is a cute, relatively safe community with a population of ~2000 consisting mostly of farmers, teachers, and office workers.
