They wanted to sell the house and had it on the market for years while renting it to faculty from the nearby university. 

Better idea: can you put a sign in your yard or on your roof that nearby residents will notice, referring them to a website where they can book the property?

Now compare it with what you could do with money.This property has 2 bathrooms, a lot of nearby recent similar kind solds are not.

Any recent past appraisals done on your properties (or on comparable properties nearby if you can get your hands on them somehow).

Asheville boasts a massive student population and many nearby universities. 

Any nearby states that you think of with good cash flow opprtunities...

After we identify a viable property, we will analyze nearby listing to see if there are many listings (positive since you know the area works), how many Superhosts (positive, again because Pros have validated it), and then analyze the calendars, reviews, etc.

There are no open-builder lots available in my town (Clearwater), but there are some in nearby Wichita and other small towns around here.  

Lastly, I'll mention calling title companies and asking them if they would be willing to share your information with their most active customers that flip houses.I highly recommend that you go to a REIA meeting or biggerpockets meetup nearby where it's not only easy to find potential buyers here, but also great to find mentors or advice.Although finding buyers is something that needs to be completed for you to wholesale your deal, I recommend prioritizing FINDING the deal and getting it in writing FIRST. 

Also call a licensed Surveying company (which may also be  an "Engineering" company) nearby and ask the same thing.Then, ask a Realtor or current property owner who supplies utilities to the land.
