You can set up Keyword Alerts for terms that you are familiar with (or locations) so that when they are discussed - you can jump in and engage in those conversations.

I'd suggest setting up some "Keyword Alerts" so that when certain topics are discussed in the forums (like "4-plex" or "landlord") you can jump in and read those threads.
