They generally have lists they can refer to.It's never 100% accurate because repairs on a newly bought building can quickly cascade into larger projects depending on what they find when they are on site.

If you go this route, I recommend finding a good deal and the lender could possibly fund 90% of the purchase price and 100% of the rehab depending on your FICO and experience.
