Very likely you're responsible to the entire mortgage because if something happened to your husband you would be liable for the entire debt of the home.

@Artia Jones the mortgage is usually paid off out of the seller proceeds unless otherwise agreed, this is the reason why you should make sure they have enough equity in the deal to cover any debt
