Be Active on BP, and I encourage to put a picture as it helps with credibility. 

You must show that you need to be actively involved in the business, ie. property management, overseeing contractors, rehabs, etc.  

You'll get a wealth of REI knowledge and learn how to take full advantage of Bigger Pockets (including how to connect with other Texas investors).Listen to the podcasts , get active on the forums & set up key word alerts to be notified when people are discussing topics you're interested in. 

Someone that either currently owns investment RE (irrespective of location), and/or that is actively engaged in the pursuit of more REI (in this case, buying in your market).

While I invested in my first SFR to start with, after that, I've been able to 'remain' active in the game through other methods - by delivering value.I've been able to create two partnerships while in Korea with people I've met through BiggerPockets.

A fourth option is to ask the other local and active wholesalers "where are the deals being done?"
