But when I researched the rental issue deeper at the other place, I realized long term is risky with these types of properties. 

@Robert CarlI realize this is an old post but I am trying to make this decision as we speak.

I just didn't realize it could be done in our moist climate, over cinder block which may sweat a lot (I don't know for sure as I have never seen a cinder block wall in Texas).

The more I look at the numbers the more I realize the property wouldn't be viable unless I'm purchasing in the 180k range.
