In the end we had to make numerous structural repairs because of hidden waterlogged structural components.

There is a Costco in the works off I-35 (by the EVO movie theater), and there are also long-term plans for an urban center similar to the Domain in north Austin. 

If you are looking to avoid crime I would suggest avoiding urban core areas.

Well as a member of the Board in my state, who hears numerous cases,  I think you are underestimating how hard it is greatly on proving reasonable accommodation.
