I had budgeted for some slip and slop, and yet made one fatal assumption: the capacity for rational action, on the part of the tenants with whom I do business, to do in any measurable capacity of decency what is in their own best interest.The man who sold me the property after his houses, as he said, "sucked the life out of him", commented ominously in reference to the tenants that "these people are the scum of the Earth."
