It will cost thousands of dollars to get the house rentable. 

It is literally a fully owned subsidiary insurance company that only sells insurance to its owner (why it is captive).  

I don't believe it to be worth the cost, unless you have a few thousand freely lying around, but it's probably better to use that money as earnest money to get properties under contract. 

Before you go and spend hundreds and thousands (literally) of dollars you need to educate yourself on what sort of leads you are looking for.

My family owns a car dealership so its a little hard for me to say I won't spend money on cars its literally been my life since birth.

The hardest part of getting into REI so far is literally just finding a way to get started.

If it's in a less than ideal neighborhood, on a street with other abandoned homes, and has been vacant for years, chances are it will take a few thousand dollars (at least) to make it habitable.  

It kills me when I hear stores of RE investors hiring GCs to rehab or repair homes and paying through the roof for the work, literally..

I never went to college.. my mother was an alcoholic and I pretty much raised myself..literally.. we barely had a meal on the table every night let alone ever sat down to think about going to or applying to college.. at 21 i started a house cleaning business which is very successful..
