I'm not sure why Airbnb would want to turn away potential guests, but I also have trouble believing they could be so successful when similar units are basically empty.Finally, I don't live next to o'hare, and I would prefer to host my STR III my neighborhood.

The biggest concern I have is that most individuals in my network will not be able to cover the whole $100K purchase......and I wonder about having 3-4-5 private loans and the costs/hassles associated with that. 4th lien position?

As a general rule I only recommend portfolio loans to experienced landlords who already have at least 2 properties and preferably 5 years but at least 2 years of experience.
