The VA beach/Norfolk region? 

There are so many states that are red hot right now, we focus on the midwest particularly in the award winning greater Indianapolis region / Indiana in general and it has been great to us.

@Crysta Webb Unless there is some regional preference or some other qualitative factors driving you to consider Detroit, I would start over with the initial filters being what states are most economically friendly.

Do you recommend any agents in this region?

@Kelly A.You might try local / regional banks or credit unions in the area. 

Out of state investing makes sense if you are in a very high priced region, in a very tenant friendly jurisdiction or are going to have to turn over all activities to others (management, refurbs, etc).

We would like to connect with agents and investors that know the region well.

Hey everyone,I'm looking at investing in my first short term rental in a saturated market in the Pocono Region of PA.

Wanted to read your thoughts and advice on the DC/MD/VA region's housing market for someone (me) trying to get into a local multifamily house hack (2-4 units).

Probably, with the amount of jobs (Tesla expanding more in that region etc) going to that area I can absolutely see it appreciating further.
