I think the best ways to check out the competition are to go on sites like Furnished Finder, check Airbnb/VRBO (for 30+ day stays), and look on Zillow as well for furnished 30+ day stays.

In general, Indianapolis is currently a Seller's market with an average of 9 days on market.

I ultimately chose to focus on Ohio and ended up moving here to focus on investing. 

You do have to play the markets in terms of States/Neighborhoods.
