computer science basically means learning how to code.  

I only pursued engineering because I was good at math and science and didn't really know what I wanted to do with my life.

You won't be able to convert it into a modern floor plan and I think thats okay - I'd keep it authentic for the most part. 

It really depends on how well you initially stock the place and how modern you want to keep it when technology and fashion advances.
