Hello All, I'm looking for a reputable appraiser in the metro Detroit area.

I’m a first time investor here and exploring many options on how I can best start out.

Word has sort of gotten around that I know what I'm doing, which is kind of nice...and I'd like to try to leverage that positive reputation to open up some deals I wouldn't otherwise be able to access right now.Goals:Since I'm out of capital myself for now, I see three possible ways I can leverage this expertise:Manage others' properties for a commissionSource private money for down payments and purchase them myselfForm a joint-venture partnership with someone who has capitalI've already done the first two ideas, but I'm really intrigued by the last one.

It might be easier if you call some of the local multi-family real estate club organizers and ask who frequently attends their club as well as who has the best (or worst) reputations.

I would say that when you are new, its best to go with an established lender that has a solid reputation, good reviews, presence online and here on BP - its definitely risky going the informal route when you are just starting out
