Collins, Thank you for your recommendation I had just applied for the Property Accounting Manager and for the Manager Communications position.  

Questions 1/2 : I believe the best communication is always in the form of a check :) monthly is preferred.

Couple things I value: someone who communicates well and is patient with someone as a first time buyer.

I live in a very large complex downtown, so I don't communicate with the leasing office too often.

We see the project all the way through and keep in communication with the owner to deal with snags, pricing issues or hidden problems.For Leasing, we do not get paid until we get the lease.

He quickly provided his contact info and created a tenant account for us to communicate through tenantcloud and he has been paying his rent on time (even a few days ahead of time).

They are very busy and I did struggle to get in touch with them, but they called back when needed and while already on phone, the communication was very good.Next time will try probably someone else to get a comparison. 

Communication is key!

I don't know of any books that would help but joining a public speaking group like Toastmasters International would likely help a person with his or her shyness as it's a communication and public speaking group.

Do your Sub Contractors have the ability to verbally communicate, with English Language Only Speakers?
