If I were to make an offer and go after the house at say, $40K, and put 40-50K in fixing the soil/foundation issue, would the home regain its original appraised worth, or is this a scarlet letter on the home that will forever cause it to be devalued?

@Vincent DangYou should put the address that you want any communications to be done.In your case - this should be your address in California.You will likely receive mail such as a letter from the IRS indicating your EIN.

When I see bandit signs, and yellow letters that say "We buy houses fast, for cash" I want to take a marker and write on them "But only if you agree to sell it for less than what it is actually worth" because that is full disclosure.
