Used to not really matter but let several years judges have thrown out eviction cases when the lease wasn't in the owners name on title.Again could be a local, state or judge thing, but probably safest bet to put In owners name

I bet that the PM didn't even do a walk-through inspection with the tenants.I once had a lazy property manager who simply gave the tenants a checklist and asked them to mail it to him.

This wastes valuable time for the landlord to secure a renter which could translate to significant financial losses to the manager and/or landlord.Your best bet is to see if the landlord might refund your deposit if they secure a renter by the times ou stated you would move in.
