since your not familiar with buying notes.. a local real estate centric attorney would be a good bet.now I have not bought notes post Dodd Frank.. and all the lender liability issues.for me when I did buy notes from banks or thrifts..

If you can find a good inspector, they will be familiar with local building practices from that era and should have an idea of things to look out for.Keep in mind that newer isn't always better.
