What I don’t know much about is how they are viewed in all their businesses and how much of that is crucial or part of their overall success.

If you have more of a medium term (1-5 yrs) view of these investments, you don't care about volatility. 

Tell them u feel they not a strong buyer and would rather market it . sucks but got make them close asap.I got a deal that i close this week before it got critical, but got another property 2 weeks out from finishing.
