Owners are open to seller finance a small portion ($300k) of the equity.

I sold a few land parcels in my area last year and ever since then I get a few calls a week from people impersonating the real owners of a property, trying to get me to list it for them.

For various reasons, we are partnering with the previous owner again and adding him as a partial-owner of the LLC and therefore the property.

These are owned by the owner of my property management company (I work as the head of the AirBNB side).

Similar to what @Sarita Scherpereel says, a house hack will mostly be about the equity you make and total return after moving in low down as well as hopefully lower cost of living while you are owner occupying it.

Im basically looking to buy a $1mm duplex in Chula Vista , 2 bed/ 1bath on each side owner occupy, and rent the other side. 3.5% down. 

-NOTE: in perfect world you would finance as owner-occupied to get best rate and live in property for another year to qualify.

I reached out to my attorney to contact the previous owner to provide them.
