We've had 2 Medical Marijuana prospects contact us. 

I suspect anyone who has followed his program to get out of debt (including or sans mortgage) has probably, over the course of the journey, developed the financial skills and discernment to make reasonable leveraged real estate investments.  

@Steven PickerIn Massachusetts, it is still in the early stages of legalized medical marijuana & it is highly controlled (the state dictates the amount of dispensaries & warehouses & their specific locations within those counties).  

That skill might not be useful in buying a house, but I'm sure I can leverage it one way or another.

Especially in the beginning when I'm taking it slow.Do you think it is worth the trouble to pick up the skills to be able to do my own work?

Hello BP Community,Just getting back to business after a family medical issue held us up for a number of weeks. 

Would it be possible to network with experienced investors and offer my skills/trade as a way to get my foot in the door.

It depends on how the plumbing is layed out , and as far as is it a DIY , it depends on your skill

Over the past few years, my wife and I rehabbed our home and sold it with enough of a profit to fund a move from Central Oregon to Kansas City to where my wife's family lives, purchase a new (albeit much smaller) home and make a few improvements to it, cover medical expenses for our baby boy who was born a couple months after we moved, and allowed me to take a few months off work to stay home with my little family.

Every time I go to Bandon I wish I had the skill to warrant playing there.
