Hi everyone :)I am thinking of buying my second rental property in Detroit metro, this time in zip code 48238.As I'm not a local investor, would like to hear any comments about this area from people who know it. 

With that homework I zeroed in on specific zip codes and neighborhoods. 

Redford is divided up into South Redford (better section), and North Redford (Redford Union)...with those two different school systems and zip codes. 

In just about every area/zip/neighborhood there are places I'd invest and ones I wouldn't even consider touching.You have to evaluate deals on an individual basis and understand the different drivers for each area.

For some more actionable steps here are a few things that I've found that have proven somewhat successful.(1) Narrow down your search to a few specific neighborhoods/zip codes.(2) Fly out to the market and walk the streets in the neighborhood (don't drive, walk). 

Was trying to look for a rate card to see what zip codes payout are but couldn't locate that information on the SAHA website.
